No Meek Messiah

Christianity's Lies, Laws, and Legacy

Michael Paulkovich

Famous atheist Richard Dawkins admired Jesus as a philosopher saying he was "ahead of his time." Anti-religionist Bill Maher said "Jesus is one of the greatest role models I can think of."
I admire those men but they both got it all wrong. Jesus and his Apostles are all for ethnic cleansing, as long as Hebrews are on the top rung: "The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people… And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot" (Acts 13:17-19).
The New Testament—not just the Old—approves of slavery: 1 Timothy 6:1, Titus 2:9-10, Ephesians 6:5-6, and 1 Peter 2:18. Jesus even recommends savage whipping of disobedient slaves: Luke 12:46-48.
Jesus agrees (Mk 7:10 and Mt 15:4) with Moses' jurisprudence condemning to death a rebellious or stubborn son (Dt 21:20-1).   Obviously, then, Jesus has read Deuteronomy. Does he agree with 22:28-9, wherein the penalty for rape is money paid to the rape victim's father, and the female rape victim must marry her rapist (Dt 22:28-9)?
If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
Jesus unambiguously condemns to death and Hell the Lebanese people who disliked his preaching, and simply because "they had not done penance" (Mt 11:20-23). Funny how often JC forgets about TSNK.
  From No Meek Messiah:
Jesus proclaimed "whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out" (Mt 5:28-29). Your local neighborhood Christian apologist will argue vehemently that Jesus spoke in mere metaphor, but he expressed beliefs that the world would end very soon, and if you lust after a woman—Jesus believed—you will not go to his supposed heaven, but relegated to the second-best afterlife joint.
George Carlin pointed out that he still loves you.

REVIEWS

A "wonderful book... No Meek Messiah is one of the most bracing and hard-hitting books of its kind written in recent years. Its dissection of Christianity is relentless and exhaustive: from historical, philosophical, social, cultural, and psychological perspectives, it lays bare the fallacies, deceptions, and imbecilities of Christian belief. Written in lively, non-academic prose, the book is accessible to everyone--and should be read by everyone, believers and unbelievers alike." —  S. T. Joshi, award-winning critic and author of many books including The Unbelievers: The Evolution of Modern Atheism and The Angry Right: Why Conservatives Keep Getting It Wrong (2006).

"Paulkovich's stunning condemnation of the fallacious foundations of Judeo-Christian religion includes a unique year by year recounting of its atrocities and relentless annexations of territory and wealth... the lack of any real evidence for Jesus, human or divine, and its obvious plagiarism of earlier Mithraic legends for Christmas and Easter. Paulkovich's work combines rigorous scholarly research with wry humor and wit and will attract scholars and serious students as well as non-experts in search of an authentic and readable history of the period.
I am confident that No Meek Messiah will become a leading source for all interested in the history of religion." —
Eric A. Stone, PhD, author of the forthcoming Atheism: The Struggle and the Promise.  (2006).

"Christianity on trial! It is as if a jury were deliberating over the guilt or innocence of an accused murderer, and the evidence consisted of a hundred eyewitnesses, four hundred mutually corroborating DNA samples, a complete set of the defendant's fingerprints on the murder weapon, two hundred surveillance camera photographs of the defendant committing the crime, and a signed and notarized confession..." — Donald R. Burleson, author of over 20 books, hundreds of articles, and over a hundred short stories.

"Drop everything you are doing and order Michael Paulkovich's NO MEEK MESSIAH, a book which treats the Christian biblical literature, the Bible among them, as a well documented set of lies, laws and a despicable legacy of non-events bloodied with unspeakable cruelty. Even Jesus Christ may not have existed nor was he crucified if he existed. Much of the accounts in the Bible (all versions) never took place and the number of contradictions they contain deploy confused messages they purports to convey. It will take perhaps another hundred years before the full truth of the Christian era emerges as the dominant early history of the development of what we call Civilization. This book is a great step in that rational direction." — Dr. Elie A. Shneour (The Malnourished Mind).
